to our cave hotel which is located in
the heart of Cappadocia.
Hisar Evi ("House of the Castle") is
situated in the quiet old town of
Ortahisar which means " Middle Castle "
and takes it name from the old rock
castle that rises up majestically in
front of the hotel. This stands amids a
maze of old caves and houses; some
deserted some occupied much as they have
been for centuries.
The town, like much of the region is
pre-Roman and has retained its character
well having been fortunately a bit
overlooked by the tour buses. The
tranquility of the location is
interrupted only by the occasional dog
barking, village chatter or the calls to
prayer that echo around the valleys that
surround the castle. Cars are
infrequent.

Rooms
There is no such thing as a "standard"
hotel accommodation at Hisarevi Cave
Hotel.
Unlike most hotels, each room offers its
own individual character, dιcor and
architectural detail of the local cave
houses. Even the smallest of rooms has a
welcome and open feel, thanks to the
generous closets, large bathrooms and
abundance of natural light. And while
the necessities of our vacation
accommodations are modern, the charm is
completely yesteryear.
